Petrișor Peiu, the leader of the AUR senators, stated that his party has not made a final decision regarding the vote on the amendments submitted by the PSD to the 'Solidarity Program'. AUR is waiting for a discussion with the social democrats, considering that some amendments, such as the elimination of CASS for mothers on parental leave, overlap with AUR's proposals.
Peiu mentioned that AUR could support one-time financial aid for pensioners, but with conditions related to other programs. In the absence of a discussion before the vote, AUR will establish its own strategy. Additionally, Peiu commented on a possible motion of censure, stating that it is not the case at present, considering the debate related to the budget. AUR has submitted budget amendments worth under 2 billion lei, including proposals for CASS exemption and the restoration of scholarships for students. Peiu emphasized the need to increase revenues from the National Bank to cover these expenses.
