The local councilors in Arad approved, during the meeting in May, a draft resolution to modify the local public transport fares.

The new prices will come into effect starting August 1. Thus, the urban travel ticket will cost 1 leu, valid for 24 hours. Subscriptions will have prices of 20 lei for one month and 5 lei for one week, while the benefits for subsidized categories will be maintained. Additionally, the fares for the leisure train will be 1 leu for both adults and children.

Mayor Călin Bibarț mentioned that this measure aims to encourage the use of public transport, and citizens will have time to update their subscriptions according to the new options. The project will also be sent to other UATs members of ADI for approval.
