Since Tuesday, Romania has recorded approximately 200,000 power outages due to severe weather, with showers expected to continue. The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, stated that 322 teams, made up of 1,000 electricians and specialized equipment, have been mobilized to intervene in the affected areas. So far, 86,000 households have been reconnected, while another 114,000 remain to be reconnected, affecting 266 localities.

From an energy perspective, Romania is in a balanced situation, having an average consumption of 7,400 MW and being a net exporter of energy, with production 11% higher than last year. Additionally, gas storage is at 40%, above the European Union average. In Bucharest, a malfunction at ELCEN South affects the supply of hot water, but 90% of users benefit from heating. The Minister emphasized the exemplary mobilization of teams and effective collaboration with local authorities.
