The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture transfers 164.7 million euros to 34,992 farmers in the new tranche of advance payments from the 2026 Campaign

The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) made a new tranche of advance payments to farmers on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The amount transferred totals €164,779,269.13, equivalent to nearly 870 million lei, and reaches 34,992 beneficiaries across the country.

The funds are intended for agricultural producers and livestock breeders, at a time when autumn farm work is generating significant expenses for fuel, seeds and fertilizers.

Since the launch of the advance payments campaign on October 16, 2026, APIA has authorized total funds of €854,787,813.62 for payment. Of this amount, €769.4 million comes from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF), €72.49 million from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), while €12.87 million represents co-financing from the national budget.

Following Wednesday’s payment, farmers have effectively received more than €746.9 million from the EAGF. Agriculture Minister Florin-Ionuț Barbu said that the processing of eligible applications is proceeding smoothly and that the pace of payments will be maintained.

APIA makes EAGF payments directly, while payments for rural development measures financed through the EAFRD and the national budget are processed by AFIR.

Before the November 4 tranche, APIA announced that, starting on October 16, 2026, it would begin advance payments of subsidies for the 2026 Campaign, with exceptional state aid for farmers affected by the 2025 soil drought, as well as for pig and cattle breeders, also due to be paid by December 31, 2026.

At the same time, APIA had also begun paying state aid for diesel fuel used in agriculture during the second quarter, totaling more than 150 million lei, while interim Agriculture Minister Tánczos Barna warned in parallel that farmers could remain without payments until the end of the year if the Government failed to approve the necessary budget rectification.
