The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) will begin, on October 16, advance payments of subsidies related to the 2026 Campaign. The measure aims to provide farmers with the financial resources needed to continue their agricultural activities.

The institution announced that, by December 31, 2026, exceptional state aid will also be paid to farmers affected by the 2025 soil drought, as well as to pig and cattle breeders. Support for the pig and cattle sectors is being provided amid difficulties caused by the crisis in the Middle East.

The priorities were presented by APIA Deputy Director General Constantin Bîrcă at the Oltenia Regional Conference – Agri4Future Romania, organized in Craiova on October 8 by the Romanian Farmers’ Club. The APIA representative also presented the results of the 2025 Campaign, emphasizing that the institution’s staff is mobilized to make the payments quickly and efficiently.

The conference addressed the competitiveness of Romanian agriculture, the future Common Agricultural Policy for 2028–2034, access to financing, risk management, and the use of new technologies.
