The president of ANRE, George Niculescu, announced that by the end of the year, over 9,000 MW of energy capacity, which did not have construction permits, will no longer block the system, as their technical connection approval has expired. This is good news, as the capacity becomes available for serious investors with mature projects. The measures implemented by ANRE in 2024, such as mandatory financial guarantees for ATR, deadlines for completing solution studies, and clear rules for terminating unused approvals, have contributed to this situation. Niculescu emphasized that investors who do not develop their projects will no longer be able to block the grid, making room for those who actually want to build. Compared to August, when the ratio was 12 to 1 between projects with ATR and those ready-to-build, a significant improvement is now observed.
