The Romanian Naval Authority explained why the Ukrainian marine drone could not be detected.

The Romanian Naval Authority (ANR) announced on Friday that the Ukrainian marine drone identified in the port of Constanța could not be detected by radar due to its characteristics. ANR emphasized that small vessels and military objects with non-metallic structures are extremely difficult to detect consistently. In this context, identifying and tracking such a target becomes a major challenge for ANR's equipment.

Additionally, ANR mentioned that the responsibility for monitoring unmanned maritime vehicles lies with national defense and security institutions. Following the incident, the maneuvers of ships in the North and South ports of Constanța were suspended at 08:15 and were later resumed at 15:00. ANR is constantly collaborating with the competent institutions to ensure navigation safety.
