ANCOM has announced that, starting July 7, 2025, telecom operators will block calls initiated from outside Romania that use false national numbers, in order to combat the phenomenon of 'CLI Spoofing'. This measure, agreed with telephone providers and the Romanian Police, aims to limit fraud attempts by falsifying the caller's identity. Users are advised to be vigilant and verify the caller's identity, avoiding providing personal data over the phone.
