Alro Slatina, one of the largest energy consumers in Romania, has managed to secure the entire amount of energy needed for the first six months of next year, according to CEO Marin Cilianu.

Although raw materials and energy are secured, the profitability of Alro Slatina will depend on fluctuations in the price of aluminum. General Director Marin Cilianu stated that, to ensure the necessary energy in the second half of 2026, the company will purchase resources based on market conditions.


Meanwhile, Alro is working on the construction of a natural gas power plant of 850 MW in Ișalnița. The deadline for submitting construction and installation bids is December 15, and if the project is contracted, the plant could become operational by the end of 2029.
