The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), Andrei Ţărnea, announced that approximately 2,000 Romanian citizens have returned to the country from the Gulf area, using evacuation flights, assisted repatriation, or commercial flights. Among them, 1,500 returned by their own means. The MAE activated the European rescEU Mechanism to facilitate repatriations, covering the costs of flights from the EU budget.

On Monday, two evacuation flights landed from Muscat, transporting 273 Romanians and 82 foreigners. Ţărnea emphasized the importance of communication from citizens who cannot reach flights, to allow for the reallocation of seats. He also mentioned that authorities continue efforts to de-escalate the conflict in the Middle East and ensure the safety of Romanian citizens in the region. Gunfire exchanges persist, and many airspaces remain closed due to security conditions.
