Alina Gorghiu emphasizes the need to reform the magistrates' pension system to bring it in line with European standards, proposing retirement at 65.

Former minister Alina Gorghiu said that the retirement of magistrates has become a problem of national frustration, given that 66% of magistrates in Romania retire between 47 and 49, compared to 65 in Europe. The proposals include raising the retirement age to 65, a minimum of 35 years for early retirement and limiting pensions to 70% of the last net salary. These measures would bring fairness and improve justice, as well as helping to free up funds in the NRRP.
