An alert was issued in Giurgiu and at the border after a dangerous inmate, sentenced to 6 years and 8 months for rape, destruction, and deprivation of liberty, did not return to prison.

The inmate was benefiting from a suspension of the sentence for medical reasons, which expired on Friday. He claimed to suffer from conditions that cannot be treated in prison, which is why the court allowed him to remain free for three months. Although he requested an extension of the suspension, his request has not yet been judged. The police have launched searches throughout Giurgiu County to find him.
