At the end of 2025, Romania recorded over 1,000 insolvency cases in December, with a significant increase in Bucharest and other counties.

Bucharest recorded the highest number of insolvencies, with 255 cases, an increase of 48% compared to the previous year. The counties of Ialomița, Constanța, Brașov, Bihor, and Iași also reported significant increases in insolvencies. The most affected sectors include restaurants and installation works, with increases of up to 150%. This situation suggests that many businesses have not managed to overcome the economic challenges, and experts recommend adopting preventive measures to protect companies from the risks of insolvency.
