Adrian Zuckerman, former ambassador of the United States in Romania, stated that Romanian society is more conservative than the MAGA movement in the USA, claiming that George Simion, the leader of AUR, uses this label to build political support in the United States. In his interview, Zuckerman called Simion 'a liar', accusing his party of actions against bilateral cooperation with the USA.

He also emphasized the importance of Bucharest's relationship with the Trump administration, considering it essential for Romania's foreign policy. Zuckerman defended the activity of President Nicușor Dan but criticized Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan for his refusal to resign. He highlighted that a strong relationship with the USA is crucial for Romania's security.
