A police officer was injured in Baia Mare after the vehicle he was in was hit by a car that did not give way.

On Monday evening, a traffic accident occurred in Baia Mare, at the intersection of Regele Mihai I Boulevard and Unirii Boulevard, involving a police vehicle. It was traveling with priority, having lights and sirens activated, when it was hit by a car whose driver did not yield the right of way.

As a result of the impact, a police officer was injured, and both vehicles sustained material damage. Breathalyzer tests conducted on both drivers showed negative results. The Baia Mare County Police Inspectorate has opened a criminal case for bodily harm due to negligence, and investigations are ongoing.
