A 9-year-old male bear was shot in Poiana Brașov after it tried to enter the annexes of a hotel.

On the night from Wednesday to Thursday, a 9-year-old male bear was shot in Poiana Brașov by an operational team coordinated by the Brașov City Hall.

The bear repeatedly attempted to enter the annexes of a hotel complex, which prompted the authorities to intervene. This is the third case of a bear removed from the resort in the last three months and the 13th specimen shot or euthanized in the municipality of Brașov.

In June, another 10-year-old bear was shot after entering the premises of a hotel, and in July, a female bear was euthanized after being frequently reported near another hotel. These incidents highlight the challenges related to the interaction between wildlife and tourist areas.
