On Sunday, a 41-year-old woman died after being hit on a pedestrian crossing by a car driven by a 20-year-old from the Costuleni commune, Iași County.

The accident occurred on Calea Chișinăului, and at the scene, the police confirmed the woman's death, which was verified by the medical team that arrived quickly. The driver was tested for alcohol, with a negative result. Following the incident, the authorities opened a criminal case for manslaughter, continuing investigations to establish the exact circumstances of the accident.
