On Monday, April 14, 2025, a 4.1-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Vrancea area, with epicenter near Nereju, at a depth of 140 kilometers. This is the strongest earthquake since the spring of this year and was felt in several localities in Vrancea and Buzău counties. According to preliminary information from the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics, there has been no material damage or casualties so far.
