A young man attacked a 68-year-old man in the capital, stabbing him 33 times. The victim survived, and the aggressor was apprehended by the police.

A violent incident took place on a street in Sector 2 of Bucharest, where a 20-year-old young man attacked a 68-year-old man, stabbing him 33 times. The attack occurred on the night of November 9, 2025, when the assailant, armed with a knife, followed the victim for approximately 400 meters before delivering multiple blows to the abdomen, chest, limbs, and head. The victim managed to reach a nearby store, where he requested help, and was later transported to the hospital for surgery.
Investigators have not been able to establish a motive for the attack, and the assailant was identified and apprehended after a few days. Evidence found at his residence confirms the charges of attempted murder, considering the premeditation and cruelty of the act. The young man will be presented to the Bucharest Tribunal with a proposal for preventive detention for 30 days.
