A 19-year-old man was arrested after he set fire to an apartment in sector 3, posing a danger to the residents of the building.

A 19-year-old man was detained by the police after he caused a fire in an apartment in sector 3 of the Capital, following arguments with his parents. The incident occurred on Monday evening when the young man set fire to some furniture and left the apartment, leaving the door ajar, thus putting the other residents of the building at risk.

The police were alerted by a call to 112, and the intervention teams evacuated the residents from the upper floors and extinguished the fire. The young man was quickly located and taken for questioning, being investigated for destruction. The fire did not spread to other properties and no casualties were reported. He was detained for 24 hours and will be presented to the magistrates with a legal proposal. Investigations continue under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Sector 3 Court.
