A 17-year-old young man from Sibiu has been arrested for murder, accused of hitting a 73-year-old man with a stick, causing his death.

A 17-year-old teenager from Sibiu County has been arrested on charges of murder after assaulting a 73-year-old man. The incident took place on the night of 06/07.03.2026, on a street in the town of Boian, where the two locals were in a public area. The young man deprived the victim of a stick and repeatedly struck him on the head, leaving him on the street.

The victim died that same night due to the injuries sustained and exposure to the cold. The Prosecutor's Office attached to the Sibiu Tribunal has initiated investigations for murder, and on 08.03.2026, the judge for rights and liberties ordered the arrest of the defendant for 30 days.
