Michelangelo's masterpiece located in the Sistine Chapel will undergo its first restoration in the last three decades. This intervention, announced by the Vatican, will last three months and aims to remove particle deposits that have affected the original colors of the work. Experts hope that the restoration will recover the chromatic and luminous quality desired by the artist. Although the Sistine Chapel will remain open to visitors, the fresco will be covered with scaffolding, and visitors will be able to admire a high-definition reproduction of it. The chapel, which attracts millions of tourists annually, also houses other famous frescoes, such as 'The Creation of Adam', which will remain accessible to the public during the works.
