At the UCIN Awards Gala 2025, the film 'The New Year That Wasn't' directed by Bogdan Mureșanu won the Grand Prize and the Trophy of the Union of Filmmakers, the awards being presented by Adrian Cozma, Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies. Cozma emphasized the importance of collaboration with UCIN for the promotion of Romanian cinema.
Bogdan Mureșanu dedicated the award to his team, mentioning the difficulties of making the film. In addition to the Grand Prize, the film was also awarded prizes for screenplay, best female performance (Emilia Dobrin), editing, soundtrack, and makeup. The gala also included other distinctions, such as the Special Jury Award for 'Moromeții 3' and various awards for the films 'Great Week', 'Familiar', and 'Horia'. The event was organized by the Union of Filmmakers in Romania, with musical moments supported by renowned artists.
