Netflix is analyzing the possibility of introducing permanently active channels that would broadcast series and movies, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.

This move would bring the platform closer to services like Pluto TV and Tubi, which offer free ad-supported channels, in contrast to the ad-supported Netflix subscription that costs $8.99 per month. The company is also considering selling packages that include other streaming services, similar to the offerings of Apple TV and Prime Video. This initiative comes amid a decline in user engagement, and Netflix is looking for solutions to rectify the situation.

Additionally, the company has noticed significant drops in the audience for the second season of some series. Recently, Netflix has started to diversify its content by adding video podcasts and materials from digital media brands that can be watched without requiring constant attention. Netflix spokesperson Adrian Zamora did not provide further comments.
