Netflix launches AI Discover / Users will receive recommendations based on their mood

Netflix will test a series of artificial intelligence-powered features in the United States, designed to help users more easily choose the movies and TV shows they want to watch. The new tools will be brought together in an experimental section called AI Discover.

The first feature being tested offers recommendations based on the user’s mood. Available options include themes such as “something light,” “something short,” or “something scary.” After choosing a theme, users will be able to select niches and adjust the recommendations.

The features will be powered by an artificial intelligence solution developed by Netflix, capable of learning and responding in real time based on the content subscribers watch and their preferences.

The American company notes that AI Discover is an experimentation area. Netflix will analyze the feedback received from users and later decide which features will be kept and which will be removed. Initially, the section will be available only in the United States.
