On October 25-26, Bucharest will host a weekend of intercultural dialogue between Sri Lanka and Romania, organized at the National Museum of Maps and at Rezidența9. The event is part of the project 'Close. The Culture of New Migrants // Focus: Sri Lanka', which promotes Sri Lankan culture and the stories of Asian migrants. The program includes participatory activities for all ages, such as showcases, storytelling sessions from the Sri Lankan community, and creative collage workshops.
On October 25, the Museum of Maps will organize interactive activities, including a showcase with maps and an informal storytelling session for reading excerpts from texts written during previous workshops. The next day, at Rezidența9, the audience will be able to listen to popular stories from Sri Lanka and participate in a collage workshop. The project, developed by co/film collaborator, runs until December and includes various community events, exhibitions, and workshops. Access is free, based on registration.
