The Bulgarian resort of Burgas, located on the Black Sea coast, has been designated as the host city for the Eurovision Contest 2027, according to Euronews.com. This is the first time Bulgaria will host the competition, following DARA's historic victory in Vienna.
Although the capital Sofia was considered a favorite, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) opted for Burgas due to the unique atmosphere it offers to Eurovision fans. The EBU highlighted the city's reputation, the fourth largest in Bulgaria, for its beaches, vibrant cultural life, and international events.
Martin Green, the director of Eurovision, expressed excitement about hosting this event, promising an authentic Bulgarian musical celebration. The Grand Final of the 71st edition of Eurovision will take place on May 15, with semifinals on May 11 and 13.
