Bookfest 2026 starts on Wednesday at Romexpo, with 158 exhibitors and 455 events. The famous Bulgarian writer Gheorghi Gospodinov is among the guests.

Bookfest 2026, the most anticipated book event in Bucharest, will debut on Wednesday, June 3, at Romexpo, Pavilion B2, and will conclude on June 7. At this edition, 158 exhibitors will organize 455 events, including launches and cultural dialogues.

Bulgaria is the guest of honor, bringing a delegation of 14 writers, including Gheorghi Gospodinov, who will participate in discussions and book launches. Among the Romanian authors present are Mircea Cărtărescu and Cristian Tudor Popescu. The Ministry of Culture supports this project, and Bookfest benefits from the High Patronage of the President of Romania. The visiting hours will be between 10:00 and 20:00 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, while on Friday and Saturday the hours will be 10:00 - 21:00.

At this edition, there will be a total of 158 exhibitors, with 455 events in the common spaces and at the publishers' stands.
