The Ministry of Energy has proposed a project to provide a voucher of 50 lei per month to about 2.1 million vulnerable households from July 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026. The support will be given to people with incomes below certain thresholds and will apply exclusively for the payment of electricity bills. The total cost of the measure is estimated at RON 1,041.3 million, including the services of the Romanian Post Office. Applications will be made online and eligibility will be checked automatically.
