In the first six months of 2025, Romania's natural gas production decreased by 1.9%, while imports increased by 52.6%.

Production of usable natural gas in Romania was 3.731 million tons of oil equivalent in the first half of 2025, down 1.9% from the previous year. Imports, however, increased significantly by 52.6% to 1.275 million toe. According to CNSP estimates, production is expected to increase moderately until 2027, but imports are on a downward trend due to new production capacity coming on stream.
