Adrian Vintilă, adviser to the Minister of Energy, announced that 3.5 million households could benefit from energy bill subsidies in the context of market liberalization. This number is based on INS data and the World Bank report on energy poverty. The program will run until March 2026, and applicants must actively apply. There is uncertainty about the adoption of the program due to the caretaker government, but the Ministry of Energy believes it is necessary. The estimated financial impact for this year is about 800 million lei.
