Wolverhampton has officially been relegated to the second league. With only 17 points accumulated, the team from the West Midlands can no longer surpass 17th place, occupied by West Ham, even if they were to win their last five matches. The team's fate was sealed after a severe defeat, 3-0, against Leeds, and relegation became official on Monday, after a 0-0 draw between West Ham and Crystal Palace. Wolverhampton thus returns to the Championship after eight years, having a catastrophic season, with only three victories in 33 matches. Coach Vitor Pereira was dismissed in November, and his successor, Rob Edwards, failed to turn the situation around.
