University of Craiova, eliminated from the Champions League qualifiers after 2-2 with Levski Sofia

Universitatea Craiova, the champion of Romania, finished in a draw, 2-2, against Levski Sofia at home, in the second leg of the second preliminary round of the Champions League, and thus exits the competition.

Levski Sofia opened the scoring in the 12th minute, through Everton Bala, and Aldair Neves increased the lead four minutes later. Universitatea Craiova reduced the deficit in injury time of the first half, through Nicușor Bancu, and Adrian Rus equalized in the second half, from a free kick. Until the end, both teams created goal opportunities, but the score remained unchanged, and the Bulgarian team qualified for the next round.

Following the elimination from the Champions League, Universitatea Craiova will continue its European journey in the third preliminary round of the Europa League, where it will face KuPS Kuopio.
