The leadership of the Central Commission of Referees (CCA) organized a seminar in Mogoșoaia and Buftea, where it presented the new rules for the 2026-2027 season of the Super League. These changes aim to increase the pace of the game and discourage time-wasting.
A significant change is that substituted players have only ten seconds to leave the field, and those receiving medical attention will have to remain off the field for one minute. Additionally, the responsibilities of video refereeing (VAR) are expanding, allowing interventions in cases of incorrect penalties. In the disciplinary chapter, the yellow card for attempts to stop the game is being eliminated, and delays in throw-ins will be penalized with a countdown. The seminar included theoretical and physical tests for referees, and the first stage of the Super League will take place between July 17-20, with the Romanian Super Cup on July 12.
