Carlos Alcaraz needed just a little over two hours to defeat the Frenchman Corentin Moutet, seeded 32, without any emotion, in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, 6-1.

The Spaniard will face Tommy Paul, seeded number 19, in the round of 16. The American advanced this morning by defeating the Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who retired at 2-0 in sets for Paul, 6-1, 6-1.
