Thanasi Kokkinakis, an Australian tennis player, has returned to the court after a long absence caused by an injury to his right pectoral muscle. Alongside Nick Kyrgios, he won the first round in doubles at Brisbane, but emphasized that the most important aspect is his recovery. Kokkinakis talked about the difficulties he faced in the last 12 months, including consultations with many surgeons, including Rafa Nadal's doctor, who was unsure about the nature of the problem.

In February last year, he underwent a rare surgery, in which it was necessary to cut half of his pectoral muscle and use the Achilles tendon of a deceased person to repair his muscle. Although many surgeons considered the procedure too risky, Kokkinakis hopes to fully recover and play again at the highest level, considering that the Australian Open starts on January 18.
