Szabolcs Kovacs, the brother of well-known referee Istvan Kovacs, has been chosen by UEFA to officiate his first official international match in the UEFA Europa Conference League preliminaries. The match will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at the Centenary Stadium in Ta' Qali, Malta, between Floriana FC and Haverfordwest County AFC. The refereeing brigade will be fully Romanian, including assistants Marius Badea and Adrian Vornicu, with Marcel Bîrsan as fourth official. Italian Daniele Orsato will referee the match.
