Sorana Cîrstea, Romanian tennis player and seed 26, was eliminated on Thursday in the semifinals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome, with total prizes of 7.2 million euros. She was defeated by American athlete Coco Gauff, seed 3, with a score of 6-4, 6-3, in a match that lasted one hour and 15 minutes. The confrontation was interrupted for about 10 minutes due to a medical emergency for a spectator. Reaching the semifinals earns Sorana Cîrstea a prize of 289,115 euros and 390 WTA points, thus contributing to her performance in the last season on the professional circuit.
