She was defeated by American athlete Coco Gauff, seed 3, with a score of 6-4, 6-3, in a match that lasted one hour and 15 minutes. The confrontation was interrupted for about 10 minutes due to a medical emergency for a spectator. Reaching the semifinals earns Sorana Cîrstea a prize of 289,115 euros and 390 WTA points, thus contributing to her performance in the last season on the professional circuit.
