The Colombian singer Shakira and Nigerian artist Burna Boy will be the headliners of the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled for June 11 at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The announcement was made by FIFA, which stated that the official anthem, 'Dai Dai', will support the FIFA and Global Citizen Fund for education, aiming to raise 100 million dollars to provide children with access to football and quality education.
The ceremony will begin one hour before the opening match between Mexico and South Africa. Alongside Shakira and Burna Boy, artists such as Alejandro Fernandez, J Balvin, and Madonna will also participate. This is the fourth time Shakira will perform at the World Cup, having memorable performances in previous editions.
