Norwegian forward Schjelderup was sentenced by the Copenhagen court to 14 days of suspended imprisonment and one year of supervision after he admitted to distributing an illegal video on Snapchat. The incident occurred two years ago, during the period when the player was playing for the Danish club Nordsjaelland. Although prosecutors requested a 20-day prison sentence, the judge decided on a milder penalty. Schjelderup stated that he sent the video "as a stupid joke" and quickly deleted it after realizing it contained illegal content. He apologized on Instagram, acknowledging that he made a "stupid mistake." Although he played for Norway in the World Cup qualifying match, he was left on the bench in the game against Italy, and the Norwegian Football Federation did not impose any additional sanctions.
