Ruud Van Nistelrooy, former renowned striker and with experience as head coach at Manchester United and Leicester, has been appointed assistant coach of the Netherlands national team. Starting from February 1, he will join the technical staff led by Ronald Koeman, with the goal of preparing the team for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The Netherlands national team will compete in a group alongside Japan, Tunisia, and the winner of the UEFA playoff B, which could be Ukraine, Sweden, Poland, or Albania. This new stage in Van Nistelrooy's career marks a return to international football, after a brief coaching experience.
