Alin Firfirică achieved a throw of 60.78 meters, placing 26th and thus missing the qualification for the final at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. The Romanian delegation concluded the competition without any medals, with modest results, such as 13th place for Rareș Toader in the shot put and 24th place for Alina Rotaru-Kottmann in the long jump.
