The Romanian team won the European Under-12 Chess Championship with 5 wins and a draw.

Romania took the first place at the European Chess Championship for under-12s in Slovenia. The team, composed of Lucas Rusu, Răzvan-George Pârvu, Iustin Larion and Iustin-Nicolas Cazacu, coached by Petre Nad, obtained 5 wins and a draw in the 7 rounds, beating the teams from Turkey and Germany. Lucas Rusu excelled with 6.5 points out of 7. Romania also got a creditable 4th place in the girls' competition.
