Romania has lost two positions in the FIFA ranking, reaching 51st place, with 1,462.85 points, influenced by the poor results in the qualifying campaign for the 2026 World Cup. Under the leadership of Mircea Lucescu, the team had a disappointing performance, losing a friendly match against Canada (0-3) and drawing with Cyprus (2-2), which significantly diminished their chances of qualification.

In contrast, Spain has taken the lead in the ranking, while Argentina has dropped to third place.
