Manchester City qualified for the semifinals of the English League Cup on Wednesday evening, defeating Brentford 2-0 in the quarterfinals. The goals were scored by Cherki in the 32nd minute and Savinho in the 67th minute.
On Wednesday, Newcastle United also qualified for the penultimate stage after a 2-1 victory over Fulham.
