On April 29, 2026, the Minister of National Defense, Radu Miruță, initiated discussions with representatives of private companies interested in a partnership with the Army Sports Club, Steaua Bucharest, to resolve the promotion ban in the first league. After the meetings, Miruță expressed optimism, mentioning that there are investors willing to pay the rights for the brand and to develop the project. Although the names of the companies remain anonymous, the minister emphasized that transparency and fairness will be priorities in the collaboration. Additional conclusions will be drawn next week. Miruță stated that Steaua must overcome the current deadlocks and professionalize, ensuring that public funds will be spent efficiently. He also emphasized that the association process will continue, regardless of political changes. Steaua is currently in 4th place in Liga 2, but cannot promote to the SuperLiga due to its status as a public law club.
