The French team Paris Saint-Germain, the defending champion of the Champions League, will play the final of the Intercontinental Cup on December 17 in Qatar. PSG will face the winner of the match between Flamengo, the Brazilian team that defeated Cruz Azul 2-1 in the semifinals, and Pyramids FC, the Egyptian team that recently won its first Africa Champions League. Flamengo secured victory thanks to a double from Giorgian De Arrascaeta. Pyramids previously defeated Al-Ahli 3-1 in the first stage of the competition. The tournament format is limited, so as not to affect the Club World Cup, which will take place once every four years.
