Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff have qualified for the WTA Finals in Indian Wells, the women’s tour’s season-ending tournament, which will take place in November. The two American players will compete in the event for the fifth consecutive time.
Pegula and Gauff join Elena Rybakina, the world No. 1, Aryna Sabalenka, champion in Indian Wells and Miami, Mirra Andreeva, the Roland-Garros winner, and Linda Noskova, the Wimbledon champion. Two places remain available in the singles draw.
The qualification of the two Americans extends a tradition of the past five years: the WTA Finals draw includes more than one player from the United States.
Pegula has had a consistent season, reaching five finals. She won the Dubai tournament and the Charleston event, and also reached the finals in Cincinnati, Berlin and Washington. In her previous appearances at the WTA Finals, the Buffalo player was runner-up in 2023 and a semifinalist in 2025.
Gauff won the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati and reached the finals in Miami and Rome. She also reached the semifinals at Wimbledon and the US Open, as well as the quarterfinals at the Australian Open. In 2024, Gauff became the first American in the past decade to win the WTA Finals title.
The competition brings together the eight best singles players and eight doubles teams, according to the PIF Race to the WTA Finals rankings. The top seven positions secure direct qualification, while the final place may go to a Grand Slam champion ranked between eighth and 20th.
