Ons Jabeur, former world number 2 in tennis and three-time Grand Slam finalist, announced the birth of her first child, a baby boy named Elyan, born on Monday. Jabeur, at the age of 31, has been a notable presence on the WTA circuit, having a remarkable run in 2022, when she reached world number 2 and was a finalist at Wimbledon and the US Open.

The announcement of the birth was made on social media, where she described the moment as "a little miracle, a life full of love." Jabeur decided to temporarily withdraw from competitions in July 2025, and in November confirmed that she is pregnant. Since her last appearance on the court on June 30, she has been ranked 345th in the world in singles. Upon her return to competition, Jabeur will benefit from a protected ranking, allowing her to participate in 12 tournaments in the following year, including 5 WTA 1000 and 2 Grand Slam tournaments. The collective of players on the circuit congratulated her on this happy moment.
