Mihaela Peneș was one of the greatest Romanian athletes, achieving remarkable performances, including the gold medal at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Throughout her career, she won national and international titles and was appreciated both for her sporting achievements and her character. After her retirement, she became involved in Romanian sport.
